What is the “Rose City Greeters” Program?

 The Oregon Convention Center “Rose City Greeters ” is a free service which pairs visitors, newcomers and even local residents with volunteers who are excited about showing off the Rose City. Visitors will learn about Portland from a local perspective because our Greeters are enthusiastic Portland-area volunteers. We offer a FREE one to two hour visit with an Oregon Convention Center volunteer who will provide you with tailored information about restaurants, parks, various community districts or most any other Portland area attraction which might pique your interest.

Schedule a Visit with a “Rose City Greeters ”

What you need to know before you request a visit.

• Request your visit at least 3 weeks before your requested visit date.
• Visits must take place at the Oregon Convention Center
• A visit can include up to 6 people (children & adults)
• Visits must start between 9 am and 3 pm, and last for up to 2 hours
• Visits are not scheduled for arrival or departure days (if from visiting outside the area). There fore, you must be staying in Portland a minimum of 2 nights.
• A phone number with voice mail is necessary before we will confirm your visit.
• Please understand that visits are subject to the availability of a volunteer Greeter.
• Submitting this form does not guarantee the availability of a Greeter.
• Greeters are friendly and enthusiastic volunteers, and not professional tour guides.
• You will receive a confirming call, or email from us giving you the name and contact information of your Greeter when we match your request to a Greeter.
• If we have no Greeter available for your visit you will be notified.
